Over the years, St. William has been instrumental in the formation of several local outreach ministries.

Just Creations (http://www.justcreations.org)

Just Creations, an outreach ministry of St. William Catholic Church, is a not-for-profit fair trade store that opened in April 1990 in order to “provide marketing assistance to low-income craftspeople in the developing world.”  Just Creations features handmade products from talented artisans from 35 countries around the world. We are proud to be a part of a network of stores throughout North America who purchase from Alternative Trade Organizations who work with the artisans and ensure they are paid fairly for their handcrafts and treated fairly in the workplace. Our wheatstraw cards from Bangladesh, Kisii stone carvings from Kenya, coffee from farmer cooperatives in Central America, and musical instruments from around the world are a treat for the senses. As we provide sights, sounds, and tastes from around the world, we provide fair wages for artisans so that they can pay for food, education, health care, and housing.

New Directions Housing Corporation (http://www.ndhc.org)

New Directions Housing Corporation is a non-profit corporation sponsored by St. William. Its mission is to provide decent and safe housing for low-income persons in the Louisville area, serving more than 400 families. New Directions also sponsors a bi-annual Repair Affair, utilizing the skills of volunteers to offer free home repair for disabled or homebound, low-income people.

GuardiaCare (http://www.guardiacare.org)

GuardiaCare (formerly known as St. William Center, Inc.) is dedicated to renewing spirits and rebuilding the lives of persons shattered by abuse, neglect, and exploitation. The Center accomplishes this mission through fiduciary services (Representative Payee, Guardian, Curator, Trust), its Adult Day Health Center and Club Dosker (another Adult Day Program).

Volunteers may participate in these ministries through service on the Board of Directors, board committees, and assisting with program activities such as visiting elders in nursing homes or sponsoring events at one of the adult day centers.
