Card tables and chairs provided seating for the guests to enjoy the food, friendship, and Harry's presentation.

The youngest participants, Fiona Grant and Mattie Borders, offered handmade beaded earrings as well as knitted items.

Anne Walter, St. William Formation Minister, introduced the concert as an opportunity to reflect on the Christian values of peace and peacemaking.

Harry Pickens played music to facilitate contemplation.

Harry led the audience through a series of exercises and songs to help them with their inner spiritual journey, an important part of working for justice in the world.

Several times during his presentation, Harry Pickens repeated the following Chinese proverb:

Concert for Contemplation

Harry Pickens, jazz pianist and justice-oriented speaker, provided inspiration at the Concert for Contemplation and Nonviolence: A Lenten Path for Peace. The event, held at St. William Church on March 13, 2005, was co-sponsored by Interfaith Paths to Peace, St. Agnes Church and St. William Church.
