Christ the King and St. William churches joined together to host their annual Mardi Gras party for 2006 on Sunday, February 26 at Christ the King Church. Music and dancing, children's crafts, pot luck buffet, piñatas and Parade of Saints highlighted the festivities.

Upon descending the steps into Christ the King cafeteria, guests were welcomed and all were encouraged to sign up for hourly door prizes and the chance to reign as royalty.

Door prizes included Mardi Gras themed CDs as well as an official '06 Mardi Gras poster -

Children's Crafts

A pot luck supper has always been an essential part of the Mardi Gras party. This sharing of food has become an essential part of the St. William - Christ the King Mardi Gras experience.

The crowd gathered around as the three piñatas were hung. The smaller children were the first to be blind folded and to swing away at a piñata.

After the first piñata was successfully opened and its candy gathered off the floor by eager hands, the older children got a chance to swing away.

Finally the adults got their turn.

After the selection of the evening's Queen and King, the band began playing

The band also provided music to dance by for both the young and their elders.

A good time was had by all!
